Israel began oil exports

Israel began export of oil with the Karish shelf field developed by the Greek company Energean.

Thus, a country, which has long been considered vulnerable due to a lack of internal energy resources, first became an exporter of oil, writes the newspaper Financial Times.

The first batch of oil was shipped from a floating installation for production, storage and unloading (FPSO) Energean, located at the field, on Monday.

Karish deposit is located on the naval border of Israel and Lebanon, in connection with which Beyut disputed the rights to him. Only in October 2022, the Israeli government approved the agreement on the establishment of the sea border with the Lebanon, on which Karish remained behind Israel, and the neighboring Kan field was behind Lebanon.

Energean began prey at Karish at the end of last year. The company said that the oil engineer Vitol will be engaged in the implementation of oil mined on the international market.

The company sells gas from the deposit at a price below international benchmarks, since Israel is a rather isolated market, while oil can be transported by tankers, and the price of its sale will be close to global.
