Israel does not transmit the Iron Dome air defense system to Ukraine, fearing that weapons may be among the Russian military who will transport it to Iran. So said the brigade general general of the Israeli Defense Army Yaakov Nagel, the article which was published in the American publication National Interest.
Nagel explained that in the event of an “iron dome” in the hands of Iranians, the information about the system will be redirected by Hamas and Hezbollah. And this will negatively affect the effectiveness of the air defense of the Jewish state, Nagel noted.
He called three more reasons that interfere with the program of the “Iron Dome” Kyiv. The transfer of “Domes” will reduce the level of Israeli air defense, as it will cause a lack of complexes. In addition, according to Nagel, the transfer of systems will not lead to a rapid increase in the efficiency of the air defense of Ukraine, since it takes a long time to prepare the Dome Dome operators. From this point of view, Nagel believes, “Patriots” believes more effective, since they do not require such a long preparation for service.
The fourth reason – Jerusalem fears the negative reaction of Moscow, given the military presence of Russia in Syria.
