Istanbul accepted 5.2 million foreign tourists in first four months of year

The flow of foreign tourists in Istanbul in January -April grew by 10 percent compared to the same period last year – from 4 million 770 thousand 533 to 5 million 244 thousand 936 people.

In April of this year, the flow of foreign tourists in the Turkish metropolis increased by 15 percent compared to the same month of 2023 – from 1 million 289 thousand 903 to 1 million 478 thousand 218 people.

At the same time, 1 million 459 thousand 83 percent of foreign guests arrived in Istanbul in air transport, another 19 thousand 135 – preferred sea transport.

The number of arrivals in Istanbul by the aircraft increased by 16 percent compared to the same month of last year, and the number of arrivals by sea decreased by 29 percent.

In April, 1276 foreign guests used the services of Ataturk Airport, 394 thousand 772 people – Sabiha Gokchen Airport and 1 million 63 thousand 35 people – Istanbul airport.
