ISW analyzed Putin’s speech

“Nothing new and nothing important.” Such an assessment was given to the message of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the federal in the report of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

The report says that Putin did not make any important ads, nothing new was heard about the war in Ukraine. “Even the rhetoric about the withdrawal of Russia from the strategic weapons agreement did not become new,” analysts noted.

They noted that Putin could use this event to formulate new goals and means of achieving them, for example, to declare another official wave of partial mobilization, to call a “special military operation” of the war or take additional measures to mobilize the Russian defense industry but he did nothing of this.

“The greatest attention was attracted by his statement on the suspension of Russia’s participation in the contract for reducing strategic weapons. Perhaps Putin made this announcement in order to again introduce nuclear rhetoric into the information space, thereby distracting attention from the general lack of mainness of the rest of his performance”, – expected experts.
