Italy strengthened protection of pipeline with Azerbaijani gas

The Italian government has strengthened marine observation and control in relation to pipelines for which gas enters the south and east of the country, writes Reuters. The decision was made in connection with explosions on the “northern streams”, the agency indicates.

On the eve of the chief of staff of the Italian Naval Forces, Kavo Dragon said that in the Sicilian Strait (also known as the Tunisian Strait) the Navy forces were doubled, and the pipelines located at the bottom of the Mediterranean were planned, the La Repubblica newspaper wrote. To protect gas pipelines, notes the publication, they also want to attract robots.

It is noted that two pipelines are laid in Italy – transcrediroresky, through which gas from Algeria is pumped, as well as transdriatic (TAP, through which gas is supplied from Azerbaijan through Turkey).
