The Government of Japan on March 25 sent the protest authorities in connection with the holding of military exercises in the Kuril Islands. This on Monday at a press conference in Tokyo, the Secretary General of the Japanese Cabinet of Ministers Hiringadz Matsuno, writes RIA Novosti.
“On March 25, we stated in diplomatic channels that maneuvers and other forms of military strengthening of Russia on the four northern islands (so in Japan they call the South Kuril Islands – approx. Tass) do not correspond to the position of our country and are unacceptable, in connection with which Protest was expressed, “said Matsuno.
In the previous time, Tokyo sent Moscow protest on March 11 due to the stage of combat felting of the Russian army, which started on the Kuril Islands.
On March 21, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow ceases negotiations with Tokyo on a peace treaty due to the introduction of Japan unilateral restrictions on Russia in connection with the situation in Ukraine.
