Johnson said Norman Format in Ukraine by political imitation

The former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, in an interview with the Ukrainian channel, “Rada” said that the “Norman format” of negotiations in Ukraine was a diplomatic imitation.

According to the politician, the process of resolving the conflict, which included the Minsk agreements, did not move anywhere. He stated that sanctions against Russia were worth imposing in 2014.

“We used some sanctions, launched this diplomatic imitation called the Norman process and achieved nothing, and (Russian President Vladimir) Putin concluded that the West would not stop it,” he said.

“Norman format” calls negotiations on the situation in Ukraine with the participation of representatives of Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France. For the first time, the heads of these states discussed this problem in June 2014 in Normandy at celebrations that were dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the landing of allied troops.
