Jordanian border guards entered into a shootout with drug dealers, who made an attempt to penetrate the country from Syria.

According to the press service of the Jordanian army, a large number of criminals were wounded in the shootout, many managed to grab, the attempt to transport a large number of drugs and weapons to the country.

The criminals tried to get into Jordan from the north. On the territory of Syria, surveillance of the rest of the armed group was started. The shootout began at 02.00 local time, the operation is still ongoing.

The Jordanian state television channel El-Memleke said on Friday that the Jordanian Air Force struck two blows to accumulate smuggles in Syria while trying to transport drugs to the country.

According to the official figures of the Jordanian police, over the past ten years, 150,749 crimes related to drug trafficking have been committed in the country.
