Kazakhstan: canceled mandatory use of Russian in advertising

Majilis deputies (Lower Chamber) of the Parliament of Kazakhstan at the plenary session on Wednesday agreed with the changes and additions to the deputies of the Senate (Upper Chamber) to the draft legislative amendments on visual information issues, which consolidates the need to use the Kazakh language in advertising and signs, RIA Novosti reports .

Thus, the document is considered to be accepted by Parliament and is sent to the signature to the head of state.

According to current legislation, forms, signs, ads, advertising, price list, price tags, other visual information are set out in public and Russian, and if necessary, in other languages.
