Khazar Ibrahim: Azerbaijan will not allow Israel to attack Iran from its territory

For the decision to open the embassy in Tel Aviv, Azerbaijan was criticized from different countries, Azerbaijan’s ambassador to the United States Khazar Ibrahim said in an interview with the Israeli edition of Haarets.

“We hear from international circles the criticism of our ties with Israel. We emphasized to everyone that our decision is independent, we will continue our strategic relations with Israel, and even expand them,” said Azerbaijan’s ambassador.

According to Ibrahim, the delay in the decision to open the embassy is not related to the fact that we are talking about Israel, but with the fact that his country is slowly moving in establishing relations with many of its friends.

The ambassador also noted that the change of government in Israel does not affect relations between countries: “Israelsk-Azerbaijani relations are not affected by a change of government. This is a relationship between countries and between peoples. We saw many changes in Israel, and they never influenced On our relationship “.

Khazar Ibrahim pointed out that the relationship between Azerbaijan and Israel in the field of security would go deeper. At the same time, the diplomat said that Azerbaijan would not allow Israel to use its territory to attack Iran. Thus, he denied the publication that Israel would act with bases in Azerbaijan to attack nuclear objects in Iran.

Ibrahim emphasized that Azerbaijan will not destroy his international reputation for the sake of the goals of other countries: “Azerbaijan is a reliable international partner for international organizations. He has good relations with any country that wants good relations with him. Azerbaijan will never act Against someone else. We are proud that we do not have foreign military bases on our land, and we have an independent foreign policy and security policy. “

The ambassador also hinted that warming relations between countries does not necessarily indicate the intention of Azerbaijan to take the side of Israel when voting at the UN or on similar international forums. “Israel knows our position, and we know the position of Israel. We consult, as our friends are supposed to, and Israel always knows our position on issues that bother him, and we know the position of Israel on issues related to international forums,” – Explained the Azerbaijani diplomat.
