Kocharian refuses to head opposition Movement to Save Motherland

Ex-President of Armenia Robert Kocharian does not consider the possibility of revising the format of the “Movement to Save the Motherland”. He said this during a press conference for the Russian media.

The ex-head of state was asked if he was going to lead this movement.

Kocharian noted that he really supported the movement, which managed to consolidate a significant part of the Armenian society around him. According to him, the current leader Vazgen Manukyan is a worthy, experienced politician. Kocharian recalled that the task of the movement is to resign the government and hold early elections a year later.

Manukyan will not participate in these elections. In this sense, in Kocharian’s opinion, there are not many politicians in Armenia who are ready to take on such a serious responsibility.
