KYB called on Iraq Prime Minister to resolve situation in Kirkuk in coordination with local parties

Party of the Kurdish Patriotic Union (KYB) called on Prime Minister Iraq Muhammad Shiya A As-Sudani to resolve the situation in Kirkuk together with the parties to the conflict.

The party’s statement says that tension in Kirkuk led to the wound and death of the civilian population.

Party representatives are in constant contact with the Iraqi government to resolve the situation in Kirkuk, the statement said.

The statement says that the dialogue between political parties in Kirkuk could prevent conflict. “KYB calls on the Prime Minister to resolve the situation in Kirkur in coordination with local authorities,” the statement said.

Earlier in Iraqi Kirkuk, a commandant hour was introduced against the backdrop of protests of a group of supporters of the Democratic Party of Kurdistan (DPK), requiring the opening of the Erbil-Kirkuk highway.

The Kirkuk police called the townspeople not to leave the house at the commandant hour.

Promotion participants demand the return of the DPK building, which was used by the party until 2017. Locals, in particular Arabs and Turkman, opposed this decision and blocked the Erbil-Kirkuk highway.
