The speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Nurlan Shakiev called for the Russian names of the Bishkek areas for Kyrgyz, local media write.
“It is necessary to urgently rename all the areas of Bishkek, so far individual settlements in Kyrgyzstan are names in other languages,” he said.
The speaker noted that in Kyrgyzstan it has not yet been able to implement all plans for the development of the state language.
Currently, Bishkek is formed by Leninsky, Pervomaisky, Oktyabrsky and Sverdlovsk areas, as well as the urban-type village of Chon-Aryk and the village of Orto-Sai.
