The Foreign Minister of Kyrgyztan Jeenbek Kulubaev called on the Swedish authorities to take measures to prevent incidents with the desecration of the sacred to Muslim Koran.
As the Foreign Ministry reports Kyrgyzstan, Kulubaev held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden Tobias Billstrym. The telephone conversation took place on the initiative of the Swedish side.
The parties discussed the issues of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Sweden both in bilateral and multilateral formats. In particular, they noted the importance of maintaining political contacts and organizing mutual visits at a different level.
Billstrom informed about the situation related to the burning of the Qur’an in Stockholm, noting the position of the Swedish government on this issue. Kulubaev expressed the opinion that the official bodies of Sweden must take measures to prevent such negative cases affecting the religious feelings of people.
