Largest data leakage in history of China

Unknown hackers announced theft of about a billion inhabitants of China after hacking the database of the Shanghai police. Experts called this the largest data leak in the history of the country, writes Bloomberg.

It is noted that hackers offer to sell more than 23 terabytes of stolen data for 10 bitcoins. The leakage scale caused shock among cybersecurity specialists and various speculations regarding the veracity of the statements of hackers.

Meanwhile, the founder and chief executive director of the cryptocurrency exchange of Binance Zhao Chanpen said that his company discovered a billion of a billion records of residents from one Asian country, after which it tightened the verification procedure. The authorities of Shanghai, for their part, have not in any way commented on the situation.
