Lavrov: Russia will not join G7

Russia does not intend to join the G7 format, the “eights” will not be involved in Moscow, in an interview with RIA Novosti Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“We repeatedly said that we would never go there anymore. This” eight “will no longer be, it is yesterday,” the minister said. He noted that the conversations of the participants of the format about the reluctance to call Russia back needed them only “to promote their decisive words.”

The format of the G8 has existed from 1998 to 2014, but decreased to the G7, when the club participants refused to go around the Crimea to go to the next summit in Sochi, and gathered without Russia in Brussels. The West accused Russia in interference in the affairs of Ukraine and introduced sanctions against her. Moscow responded to this grocery embargo, took the course to import substitution and repeatedly declared that to talk to her in the language of sanctions counterproductive.
