Leader of Main Opposition Party announced victory in elections in North Macedonia

The General Secretary of the largest opposition party-the Democratic Party for the Macedonian national unity (VMR-DPMNU) Christian Mitskoka announced the victory in the elections of Gordodan Silyanovsk-Davkova.

In North Macedonia on May 8, parliamentary elections were held, as well as the second round of presidential elections.

For the victory in the second round of voting of the presidential elections, a representative fought from the largest opposition party-the VMR-DPMNU Gordian Silyanovsk-Davkov and the current head of state Stevo Pendarovsky, which is supported by the Social-Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM).

following the processing of more than 90 percent of the protocols, Gordana Silyanovsk-Davkova, supported by an alliance led by the VMR-DPMNE, scored 65.03 percent of the vote, while the current president of the Pendarovsky Stevo- 29.30 percent.

“We have achieved success. Macedonia won. This is a historical victory of the people,” said Mitskoski.

He noted that in the near future negotiations with other opposition parties will begin on the creation of the “best coalition and government.”

According to preliminary results, the CEC, the coalition “Your Macedonia” under the leadership of the VMRO DPMNE Christian Mitskoisky also received 59 deputy mandates, while the coalition “For the European Future” led by SDSM – 19, and the Coalition “European Front” led by democratic Union for Integration (DSI) – 18.
