Macron asks for oil

French President Emmanuel Macron calls for oil producing countries to increase production and thereby reduce world prices, reports AP.

According to him, oil prices put the European economy in an “unbearable” position.

Speaking at the end of the G-7 summit in Germany, Macron welcomed the discussion of oil prices as a “very good idea”, but added: “difficulty is technical in nature.”

He noted that it is extremely important to include all the main oil-buying countries in any quota agreement so that it is effective.

Macron said that he was discussing an increase in oil production with the president of the United Arab Emirates and expressed the hope that US President Joe Biden will receive a “positive answer” at oil negotiations during the upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia.
