Macron proposes to give guarantees of security from Caucasus to Europe

French President Emmanuel Macron, who previously proposed to give certain guarantees of Russia (for which he was criticized both in Ukraine and in the West), security guarantees should be determined and ensured for the entire region – from the Caucasus to Europe, writes The Wall Street Journal.

Macron said that he supports the “Absolute Protection of Ukraine” strategy, the victory of which on the battlefield should then be enshrined in the “new text, which should launch a new order guaranteeing political stability and the security of this region and Europe.”

by “this region” Macron means not only Ukraine and Russia, but also other former Soviet republics in which territorial conflicts have or take place – Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia and Moldova:

“When I am talking about guarantees, I am talking about all these countries, (about guarantees) for us, but also for Russia,” said Macron.
