Consultations with Moscow and Kyiv regarding the creation of a security zone around the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant (ZAES) are moving, although not so fast.
This is stated in a statement by the Director General of the International Agency for Atomic Energy (IAEA) Rafael Grossy, published on the official website of the organization.
“I am still determined to realize the idea of creating such a necessary protective zone around the ZAES as soon as possible. My consultations with Ukraine and Russia are moving, although not as fast as they should. I still hope that we can agree and create this zone in the near future, ”the statement says.
Grossi noted that the situation at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant remains unstable.
He also said that the IAEA this week has held another rotation of its expert team at the ZAES.
