Mass death of waterfowl in Dagestan

Mass death of birds has been recorded near the Dagestan coast of the bays of the Caspian Sea. This is reported by Rosbalt.

According to the Caspian Conservation Center, carcasses of swans, drakes, ducks, red-headed ducklings, coots and mallards were found near the shores of the Astrakhan Gulf and Anthein Gulf. The center’s specialists selected the biomaterial, which was delivered for research to the laboratory of the Institute of Ecology and Sustainable Development of DGU.

The prosecutor’s office said that they also took samples and sent them for research. The department promised to assess compliance with the requirements of environmental protection legislation.
