Employees of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs detained at least 22 supporter of ex-president Mikhail Saakashvili at the Adjara Government building in Batumi, the InterpressNews news agency reports.
members of the Opposition Party “Unified National Movement”, the Brothers of the ex-president, as well as their supporters on Friday evening held an action near the Adjara government building demanding to deliver Saakashvili to one of the foreign clinics for treatment.
Later, part of the ex-president’s supporters refused to disperse and launched tents near the Adjara Government building, demanding to deliver the former leader for treatment to one of the clinics.
On Saturday morning, police officers arrived at the rally, who began to disassemble the tents, which is why the brawl arose. The rally participants were detained administratively and delivered to the police department.
