Medical workers in Greece are large-scalely left by public health department

Over the past 2.5 years, about 10 thousand medical workers for financial reasons and due to difficulties with working conditions have left the State Sector of Greece Health.

Chairman of the Federation of State Hospital Workers (Poedin) Mikhalis Yannacos, said in an interview with Mega TV that the healthcare system in the country should be reorganized before winter.

Having stated the lack of personnel in many state hospitals, Yannacon emphasized that due to the lack of staff, many devices purchased for hospitals and 40% of the operating rooms cannot be used.

Yannacon noted that doctors consider the average salary of 1800 euros in Greece low and prefer to work abroad.

noting the need to improve working conditions, especially in the provinces, Yannacon said that otherwise the situation with the lack of personnel in hospitals would be aggravated.

According to him, over the past 2.5 years, as a result of dismissal, about 10 thousand medical workers have remained overboard the Greece Health Healthcare system.
