Meeting of heads of Foreign Ministry of Saudi Arabia and Iran lasted 3.5 hours

In Er-Riyad, a meeting of foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Iran took place. This is the first minister’s visit to KSA from Iran over the past 7 years.

Negotiations between Faysal Bin Farhan and Hussein Amir Abdullahiyan lasted 3.5 hours.

About this, the Iranian Foreign Minister wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

Iranian Minister said that during the meeting the parties discussed bilateral, regional and international issues, as well as the development of events in the Muslim world.

Relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran aggravated in 2015 with the beginning of the military operation of the coalition led by Saudi Arabia, in Yemen against the Ansarallah movement (Husita).

After the attack on the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Tehran in January 2016, the kingdom broke diplomatic relations with Iran.

Iran and Saudi Arabia restored their relations in March this year with the mediation of China.
