Italian Prime Minister Georgia Melony and US President Joe Bayden discussed by phone support to Ukraine and recent events in Russia.
“During the conversation, the support provided by Ukraine and the latest events in Russia. Bayden asked Melony about Italy’s commitment to cooperation with the European Union to ensure stability in the Mediterranean and Africa. Particular attention was paid to the crisis in Russia and its influence on the presence of PMCs “Wagner” in Africa, – the press service of the Italian government said in a statement.
Meloni and Biden confirmed the deep ties between the two countries, NATO unity and issues that will be discussed at the next NATO summit in Vilnius, the message says.
