Russia’s war against Ukraine is a planned genocide, and its goal is to create a new Russian Empire by the type of the former USSR. Such a statement was made by the former Secretary of State and a possible candidate for participation in the presidential race of 2024 Mike Pompeo. “The illegal, offensive war of Putin is a planned genocide, that is, the deliberate destruction of the people, as was determined in the UN Charter in 1948,” said Pompeo, speaking at the Hudson Institute in Washington.

In his opinion, the plans of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin also include the seizure of energy resources in the territory of the former Soviet republics and the further imposition of Russian conditions in the field of energy. This will lead to big economic losses for the United States and the whole world, Pompeo said.
The former Secretary of State of USA believes that it is possible to prevent such development in one way: to prevent Russia to establish control over the Donbass and continue comprehensive assistance to Ukraine. “America has large reserves of Abrams tanks; a significant share should be immediately prepared for sending to Ukraine,” Pompeo called.
He also called for the provision of American-made Patriot Systems to Kyiv, noting that the current S-300 Soviet era is not enough.
Pompeo rejected the idea that the peace of Moscow is able to bring any benefit: “Solidarity inside NATO is of paramount importance. Germany and France should not be reckoned with any wishes of the Kremlin.”
