Ministry of Economic Development of Russian Federation predicts growth of country’s GDP in 2023 by 1.2%

The Ministry of Economic Development predicts the growth of Russian GDP in 2023 by 1.2 percent. This was announced by Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov, speaking at a joint meeting of the colleges of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.

“The economy continues to recover. We evaluate the growth rate of GDP this year at 1.2 percent. By 2026, it will accelerate to almost 3 percent. Mainly due to the restoration of consumer demand,” Reshetnikov said.

The forecast of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, which was developed in September and formed the budget for a three -year -old, suggested a decrease in the economy by 0.8 percent. However, in March, Reshetnikov said that the ministry was waiting for GDP growth and investment in Russia in 2023. He later clarified that the growth of the economy would be visible.

In 2022, the GDP of the Russian Federation decreased by 2.1 percent.
