The Ministry of Health met with a delegation, headed by Nereziden Denmark in Azerbaijan Danny Annan. The meeting was also attended by the Honorary Consul of Denmark in Azerbaijan Arno Hoover and representatives of the leading Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk.
At the meeting, the Minister of Health Teymur Musaev noted the dynamics of the development of relations between the two countries in many areas, including in the field of healthcare: “Denmark is one of those countries where health care is given special attention. There are all the necessary conditions for the exchange of modern methodological and scientific and practical information in the field of continuous vocational training of medical specialists. In addition, Azerbaijani Medical University is actively cooperating with the University of Copenhagen. “
Teimur Musaev also indicated wide opportunities for the development of relations between countries in the field of pharmaceuticals: “The pharmaceutical industry is one of the most important sectors for the economy of any country. The level of development of this sphere is characterized by a competently built healthcare system. In turn, Danny Annan emphasized that Denmark attaches great importance to strengthening bilateral relations with Azerbaijan. Noting that trade and economic ties between the countries are expanding, the ambassador Annan also expressed the interest of his country in increasing the level of cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of healthcare and medical science.
The head of the Novo Nordisk representative office in Azerbaijan Gulshab Abbasova noted the successful implementation of joint projects in Azerbaijan, including with medical centers at the Ministry of Health. It was brought to the attention that Novo Nordisk was a global pharmaceutical company with an almost centuries -old history of innovation and the world leader in the development and production of drugs for the treatment of diabetes: “The main goal of the company is to contribute to the fight against diabetes and other serious chronic diseases.”
