Ministry of Internal Affairs appealed to drivers and pedestrians

“Analysis of road accidents shows that in the first 10 months of 2021, 42% of accidents in the country and 57% in the capital – tricks on pedestrians.” This is stated in the statement of the Ministry of the Interior.

The report also notes that both drivers and pedestrians are guilty in such accidents.

“Some pedestrians do not use pedestrian stripes, underground and overhead transitions intended for their safe and comfortable movement. As a result, most cases of an accident with their participation occurs outside the pedestrian crossings.

Considering this, the Ministry of Internal Affairs calls Pedestrians:

– move streets and roads in specially designated for places;

– When using adjustable or unregulated pedestrian crossings, take into account the speed limit on the road, the intensity of motion, weather conditions and conditions of visibility, can drivers stop the vehicle;

– be careful in limited visibility, fog, rain, snow, as well as in the dark.

– correctly evaluate the speed of the oncoming machines, start moving, making sure the movement of cars is fully stopped and drivers are inferior to you;

– be careful when waiting, landing and exiting public transport, and not to go out suddenly on the road;

– Do not use mobile phones when moving the road, as well as headphones to hear the sounds of the surrounding cars in time.

At the same time, drivers driving must seriously refer to pedestrians, which are considered the most vulnerable participants in the road, to give the pedestrians, which are already on the road, be more careful in places where pedestrians can suddenly appear on the road, especially Dark and unlit roads, as well as evaluate dangerous situations.

“Each driver should know that inattention leads to the tragic consequences,” the message says.
