Minsk suspended agreement with Ukraine on regulation of relocation process

President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, signed the law on the suspension of the agreement with Ukraine on the regulation of the process of relocation and protecting the rights of immigrants and members of their families. The document is published on the National Legal Internet portal of the republic.

“Suspend the agreement between the Republic of Belarus and Ukraine on the regulation of the process of relocation and protecting the rights of immigrants and members of their families signed in the city of Minsk on March 19, 2003,” the document says.

The bill approved both chambers of the republic on September 19, 2023.

Earlier, the press service of the lower house of the Belarusian parliament reported that the law was prepared in response to the unfriendly actions of Ukraine in relation to Belarus.

“Its implementation will contribute to the protection of the national interests of the Republic of Belarus and will allow us to free our country from obligations to fulfill this agreement during the suspension period,” the Belarusian parliament said earlier.
