Mongolia And Japan Discussed Ways To Strengthen Bilateral Relations

The State Palace in Ulan-Bator took place an official meeting of the President of Mongolia Ukhnaigi Khurelsukha and the first Lady Luvsandorzhin Bolortzesg with Emperor Japan Naruhito and Empress Masako.

According to Montsame, during the meeting, the parties noted the significance of the state visit to strengthen the Mongol-Japanese relations based on common values ​​and mutual trust.

President Horelsukh emphasized the importance of the development of “special partnership in the name of peace and prosperity” aimed at deepening cooperation between the two countries in the interests of their peoples.

The head of the Mongol state expressed gratitude to Japan for constant support in strengthening democracy, sustainable socio-economic development and the development of the country’s potential. The President also celebrated the participation of the Mongol delegation in the National Festival of Naadam – a symbol of the unity and cultural heritage of Mongolia.

Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako thanked for a warm welcome and remembered their visit to Mongolia in 2007, expressing the joy of returning with a state visit to get to know nature, history and culture of the country.

During the negotiations, the results of the implementation of the ten -year -old roadmap “Special Additional Partnership” and plans to expand cooperation in various fields were discussed, including strengthening friendship between youth and the development of bilateral relations.

The President of Mongolia confirmed the commitment to joint work for the sake of peace, stability and prosperity, noting the importance of Japanese support for the national environmental initiative “billions of trees” and educational programs for Mongolian youth.

Particular attention was paid to the protection of water resources and the natural environment, as well as the “Blue Gold” movement to protect fresh water. Mongolia expressed the hope of Japan participation in the 17th session of the UN conference to combat deserting (COP-17), which will be held in Ulan-Bator in 2026.

The international exhibition “Expo-2025” in Osakan-Kansi and the national event of Mongolia, planned for July 27, was also discussed as a platform for further strengthening mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.

The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, with memories of previous meetings, including the accession of Emperor Japan to the throne in 2019 and the visit of the President of Mongolia to Japan in 2022, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between countries.
