In Mongolia, a seminar was held dedicated to the project “Turkic traces in the steppe”, prepared under the leadership of the university rector of the Horde of Professor Orhan Bash. This is stated in the message of the university.
According to the report, the Tourk Transes in the Steppe program: General Heritage, General Future, organized by the University of the Horde University with the support of the Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination (TİKA) in cooperation with the municipality of the Horde, Mongol State University and the Institute of Turkological Studies of the Izmir University named after Katipa Chelebi, took place in Mongolia from June 29 to July 4.
The project, coordinated by Professor Orhan Bash, participated in the associate professors of Murat Ozkan and Abdulkadir Ozturk as leaders, as well as associate professors, Hussein Yildiz and Kamil Yavuz as researchers. Within the framework of the program, a scientific seminar was held with the participation of about 30 scientists from Turkey, Mongolia and Kazakhstan.

The seminar was opened by the introductory speech of the vice -rector of the Horde of Professor Hakan Timur and was dedicated to the study of traces of Turkic history in the steppes, which were discussed at sessions on Monday and Tuesday.
“The field stage of the program began on Wednesday morning at 5:00 on the inspection at the excavation site of the Togu-Balyk, conducted by Tİka and Izmir University named after Katip Chelebi. On the same day, during a visit to the Tuul River (Tola), the cultural depth of this area was clearly studied. On Thursday, the delegation arrived in Karbalgasun (Hara-Balgas), the ancient capital of Uyghurs, where the search for traces of the VIII century continued, also took a visit to the Bilge-Kagan Museum, where the delegation was given the same day, the delegation visited the NOMGONA, conducted by the International Turkic Academy, together with the Institute of Archeology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences And the information from the researchers was obtained in the Nomgon, statues, altar stones and fragments with inscriptions, allegedly related to Ilterish Kagan. The statues of sheep and lions found among artifacts, as well as the inscription, are now exhibited at the Genghis Khan Museum in Ulan -Bator. As the excavations are completed, it is expected to receive important information from the point of view of studying the history of the Turks, ”the report.
The message emphasizes that the “Turkic traces in the steppe” program is implemented with the aim of strengthening academic cooperation, documenting general cultural heritage and transferring it to future generations.
