More than 155 thousand

over 155 thousand members of the largest trade union of federal civil servants of Canada joined a national strike.

The decision on the strike was made by the Alliance of Conducting Canada (AGK), after the trade union could not agree with the federal government.

The head of the trade union Chris Eilord noted that the strike began on Thursday, at 00:01 local time. “Our goal is to achieve an agreement. The participants in the strike are ready to fight for a good, worthy and fair collective agreement,” he said.

A striker of civil servants will violate the work of 23 different civil services, in particular, tax services and services for issuing passports and immigration documents.
