More than 20 protesters were detained in Armenia

Armenia police on Saturday in Yerevan and on the Eraskh -Yerevan highway detained 21 protesters. This was reported by TASS in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic.

“The police detained 19 people in Yerevan, 2 on the Erasha highway,” the department said.

On Friday, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported the detention of about 100 people who participated in the protests demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikola Pashinyan.

Meanwhile, the Investigative Committee of Armenia reported that law enforcement officers in Armenia opened criminal cases against 49 citizens for offenses committed during the protest.

“During the mass meetings in the capital, criminal prosecution was instituted against 49 people,” the report said.

As the department clarifies, out of 49 criminal cases, 39 was initiated for participating in the riots, four for public calls for mass riots, two for the commission of hooliganism as part of the group, one for the prevention of the legal service or the activities of an official with the use of violence , one – for drug trafficking for sales, one for the illegal weapon weapon and one for public calls aimed at justifying violence and violence using information technology.
