Mortgage rates in United States have updated maximum since 2023

The average rates for 30-year mortgage loans in the United States at the week ended on April 19 increased to the maximum level since November 2023.

This was reported by the Associations of Mortgage Bankers (Mortgage Bankers Association, MBA).

According to the report, the indicator grew to 7.24 percent

The number of applications for mortgage loans in the United States over the past week decreased by 2.7 percent compared to the previous week.

During the period under consideration, the volume of applications for refinancing mortgages fell by 6 percent.

According to MBA Vice President Joel Can, an increase in mortgage rates limited the activity of applications.
