Moscow and Manama discussed ways to deepen bilateral cooperation

In the capital of Bahrain, Manam, the third plenary meeting of the intergovernmental Russian-Bahrain commission on trade, economic and scientific and technical cooperation was held.

The Russian delegation was headed by Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova, the press service of the department said in a statement.

The Bahrain part of the commission was headed by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Kingdom of Abdullah Ben Adele Fahro.

Lyubimova spoke about the prospects of trade, economic, financial and humanitarian cooperation of the two states.

“Russian -Bahrain relations have become stable and continue to develop in all directions: from political dialogue to economic cooperation and humanitarian ties,” said the head of the Russian delegation.

The issue of development of mutual tourism, according to Olga Lyubimova, is also worth paying close attention:

“Bahrain is not just called the pearl of the Arabian Peninsula, and Russia is famous for its cultural and natural attractions. At the same time, one of the obligatory aspects of the development of bilateral tourism should be the presence of direct air communication, which will make the rest more affordable and comfortable,” the head of the Ministry of Culture noted .

The report of cooperation between Russia and Bahrain in the field of industry, digital energy and electric power technologies, transport sector, ecology and agriculture were also affected in the report.

The Russian side emphasizes the need to apply efforts for the development of industrial cooperation.

In terms of bilateral interaction with Bahrain in the field of energy and electric power industry, a high interest of Russian companies was noted to actively develop partnerships with the Bahrain side regarding the implementation of joint projects in the field of oil and gas production, including at the shelf zone, as well as In the field of traditional supplies of LNG, exploration, supply of energy equipment.

Significant potential for interaction in the transport sector determines the unique geographical position of Bahrain in the region.

“We highly evaluate the prospects for using ports for the accumulation and transshipment of goods, the creation of transport and logistics centers, the organization of regular sea lines for the delivery of a wide nomenclature of goods, including within the framework of the North-South International Transport Corridor,-said the head of the Russian delegations.

The delegations of the two countries also discussed in detail the climatic agenda, cooperation in the agricultural sector and other aspects of bilateral interaction.
