Russia can use nuclear weapons only as an answer. She does not intend to deviate from the principle of inadmissibility of the armed conflict between nuclear powers. This was stated by the deputy director of the Press and Information Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Ivan Nechaev, Russian media write.
The official said that a direct clash with the United States and NATO is not in the interests of Moscow. “In the USA and NATO, they are aware of what the aggressive anti -Russian rhetoric with an emphasis on the possibility of using nuclear weapons can turn into the same,” Ivan Nechaev added.
Earlier, the lack of the need to use nuclear weapons in the Ukrainian conflict was stated by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. He noted that the main purpose of Russian nuclear weapons is to restrain the nuclear attack of other countries.
