NATO Secretary General could not guarantee rapid entry of Sweden and Finland to NATO

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg wants Sweden and Finland to enter the Alliance as soon as possible, but it cannot guarantee this. He spoke about this at an event in Brussels organized by the Politico newspaper.

“My goal is still taking care that Sweden and Finland can join NATO in the near future. I cannot guarantee this, but I say that this is still my goal,” said the Secretary General.

As Politico notes, Stoltenberg retains optimism about the entry of two countries into the Alliance, despite the objections of Turkey. “This is not the first time that one or more NATO allies do not agree with the rest,” he added.
