“No regrets”: court found Minasyan guilty of killing 10 people

In Toronto, Canada, a court found 28-year-old Alec Minasyan guilty of killing 10 and wounding 16 people, according to the Canadian TV channel CBC.

The judge announced that Minasyan was responsible for an accident in Toronto on April 23, 2018, he was found guilty on 26 counts, including murder in the first degree and attempted murder.

Judge Ann Molloy said that Minasyan acted “in a sober mind”, and also noted that the man “does not feel sorry for the accident and sympathy for the victims.”

Minasyan pleaded not guilty. According to the defense, Minasyan should not be held criminally liable, as he has an autistic disorder.

In April 2018, a van driven by Minasyan drove onto the sidewalk and started knocking people down. As a result of the collision, 10 people were killed, another 16 were injured. The police detained the driver of the car; he turned out to be 25-year-old Alek Minasyan. This transport attack was the deadliest in Canadian history. Many described the incident as a terrorist attack.
