Number of flood victims in Brazil increased to 84

The number of flood victims caused by spilling rains in Brazil increased to 84.

As the Civil Defense Department reported, another 111 people are listed in the lists of missing.

The negative consequences of floods affected 840 thousand people, 121 thousand 957- were forced to leave their homes.

According to local media, more than a million citizens in the disaster zone have difficulty access to essential subjects. In 98 villages there is no power supply and Internet connection.

On May third, the Governor of Eduardo Leita announced an extreme situation lasting 180 days.

“We are experiencing an extremely exceptional situation. This is not a critical event, but the most destructive in the history of the state,” said the governor.

Brazilian President Luis Inasio Lula da Silva, who twice visited the disaster area, promised that the authorities would restore the region.
