Number of people who died as result of floods in South Korea reached 44

The number of floods and landslides caused by heavy rains in the Republic of Korea reached 44.

According to her, the bodies of the three people previously listed as missing were discovered in the area of ​​the city of Yonchon (Eastern Cöonsan-Poom Province).

All dead are residents of rural areas over the age of 60 years.

In the Central Province of North Chunschon, rescue work in the automobile tunnel continues, where at least 15 cars were flooded, including the bus. Nine people managed to save, another 13 were killed, but there are also missing.

The department notes that more than 5.6 thousand people are still in the centers of temporary accommodation in 15 cities. 316 hectares of agricultural lands were flooded, the damage was caused to 39 objects of cultural heritage.

The season of summer monsoon this year beat all records in Korea in the number of precipitation, causing numerous floods, landslides and cliffs of electric networks.
