The number of those who died as a result of an earthquake in Morocco increased to 2 thousand 122 people, and the number of wounded – up to 2 thousand 421.

The Ministry of the Interior Morocco shared new information about the earthquake that occurred in the evening hours of the previous day.

The ministry’s statement says that the number of magnitude who died as a result of an earthquake of magnitude 7, the epicenter of which was the El -Khuz area in Marrakesh, increased to 2 thousand 122 people, and the number of wounded – up to 2 thousand 421.

Moroccan media reported that the earthquake that occurred the day before at 23.10 local time was felt in the capital of the country Rabat, Casablanca, Meknes, Agadire and Fes.

Most of the victims are recorded in the regions of al-House, Tarudant, Shivawa, Varzazat, Marrakesh, Azila, Agadir, Casablanca and Yusifiye.

In the disaster zone, search and rescue work continues. Together with the forces of civil defense, the military were attracted.
