Number of victims as result of explosion in Paris increased to 50

The number of victims as a result of an explosion in a building in Paris increased to 50 people. This was reported by the French media with reference to the prosecutor’s office of the French capital.

The incident occurred on June 21 in the 5th district of the capital of France.

Six out of 50 victims are in serious condition. Another person can still be under the rubble, noted in the prosecutor’s office.

Earlier, the First Deputy Mayor of the Fifth District of Paris, Eduard Sivel, said on Twitter that the cause of the explosion in the building in the Val-de-grace area could be a gas leak.

In turn, the Paris prosecutor’s office said that the cause of the explosion has not yet been established. The case has been instituted on the fact of “applying unintentional bodily harm”.

The Chief of the Paris Police, Laurent Nunez, said that a fire arose in the building, the windows were erased from nearby houses.

According to him, the search under the rubble of the building continues, the fire is taken under control.
