Ombudsman of Turkey for help to victims in Ukraine

The main Turkish ombudsman Shef Malkoch discussed with the Ukrainian colleague Dmitry Lubinz the help of the victims in Ukraine.

“We discussed with the Ukrainian colleague the issues of establishing peace and providing humanitarian assistance to the victims as a result of the conflict. As an ombudsman, we are opposed to wars. We urge the international community to make every effort to cease, maintain the territorial integrity of Ukraine and ensure peace.” Malcoch noted after meeting with Lubinz in Ankara.

He also said that he will hold tripartite negotiations with the participation of the Ombudsmen of Ukraine and Russia and will meet separately with the Commissioner for Human Rights under the President of the Russian Federation Tatyana Moskalkova.

“Meetings will be held tomorrow and the day after tomorrow,” said Malkoch.

He expressed hope for opening after the sea humanitarian corridor of the Corridor of Meetings to reunite with families of Ukrainians and Russians who parted with them due to conflict in Ukraine.

Ankara on January 11-12 will be an international conference of Ombudsmen, in which representatives of 41 countries will take part. At the opening of the event, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will perform.
