The social network Instagram has updated its policy on interactions between adults and minors. Now adults will not be able to write to teenagers, writes Profile.ru.
An exception, according to the official blog of the social network, is for those adult users whose pages are subscribed to by minors. The new measure should increase protection against possible illegal actions.
New underage Instagram users will be advised to close their profile to everyone except followers. If a teenager wants to write to an adult who has been caught in “suspicious behavior” by the algorithms of the social network, he will receive a special warning hint.
Instagram has also updated artificial intelligence algorithms that help determine the age of users. This will help prevent situations in which the age is deliberately indicated in the profile.
