On June 20-21, 20th International Meeting on Syria will be held in Astana

In the Kazakhstan capital, on June 20-21, the next 20th international meeting in Syria in Astana format will be held, the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.

The negotiations will be attended by delegations of the guarantor countries – Russia, Turkey and Iran, as well as representatives of the regime of Bashar al -Assad and the Syrian opposition. The arrival of representatives of the UN, Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq is expected as observers.

The agenda will include the issues of changing the regional situation around Syria and the situation “on Earth”, efforts to comprehensive settlement in Syria, issues of combating terrorism, confidence measures, including the release of hostages and the search for missing, a humanitarian situation in Syria, mobilization of the efforts of the international community in order to promote post -conflict restoration of Syria and the creation of conditions for the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland.

On the first day, four-sided consultations of deputy foreign ministers Iran, the Russian Federation, Turkey and the regime of Bashar al-Assad to discuss the progress of work on the road map on the normalization of Syrian-Turkish relations, as well as bilateral and tripartite consultations of the countries participating in the Astana process.

On the second day, it is planned to continue consultations, a plenary meeting and a press conference.

, in the framework of negotiations, it is also planned to hold the next meeting of the working group for the release of detainees/hostages, the transfer of the bodies of the dead and the search for missing people with the participation of representatives of guarantor countries, the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
