One of largest banks in Georgia large-scalely closes accounts for Russians

One of the largest commercial banks in Georgia – Bank of Georgia – began to massively close accounts to Russian clients, writes the Banki.ru service.

Russian clients of the bank began to send notifications with the text that, due to the domestic policy of the bank, the account would be closed. “We inform that on the basis of the decision and domestic policy of the bank, your account will be closed within five business days. Please divert the account before the specified period,” the report said.

The specific reason for the lock in the bank is not indicated.

Over the past day, 35 accounts have already closed Bank of Georgia. Belarusian clients began to block accounts in the Georgian bank, according to the publication “Our Niva”.
