Only President, Prime Minister and Foreign Ministry: Zelensky forbade comment on foreign policy of Ukraine

President Vladimir Zelensky issued a decree on which the official comments on foreign policy can now give only the Ukrainian President, Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of Ukraine, reported on the website of the President of Ukraine.

It is noted that the decree is published “in order to ensure the unity of the foreign policy of the state.”

The decree states that government agencies must agree on written requests from the Foreign Ministry: the preparation of visits to Ukraine of foreign leaders of government agencies and delegations; official statements and comments on the policies of Ukraine in the field of external relations and on international initiatives; Initiatives to acquire Ukraine membership in international organizations and associations; preparation of international documents; proposals for candidates in the bodies of international organizations; conducting international consultations, negotiations and meetings related to the implementation of foreign policy; Participation in international consultations, negotiations and conferences.

Gosorgans should inform the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the President on their official contacts on foreign policy issues, and within 10 days after the completion of the international event, it is necessary to inform about its results.
