Orban described war in Ukraine

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that in Ukraine there is a war not between good and evil, but between two Slavic countries.

“Therefore, this is not our war,” Orban said in an appeal to the nation.

According to him, 2023 will be “the most dangerous since the fall of communism due to the threat of war and inflation.” The Hungarian prime minister added that the only way to guarantee a peaceful life for Hungary is to “stay away from the Russian -Ukrainian war.”

“We are part of the Western world, NATO members and the European Union, and everything there on the side of the war, or at least pretend that this is so, except us,” said Orban.

In his opinion, the West is “guilty at the beginning of the war.”

Orban also said that humanitarian assistance to Ukraine is not a break in relations with Russia. Hungary intends to maintain economic relations with Russia and “calls on the same Western partners,” he added.
