Orban: West is to blame for Russian-Ukrainian war

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine could be avoided and that he sees the guilt of Western allies in this, who did not go to the demands of Vladimir Putin contrary to the interests of Ukraine, Telax writes.

During his speech, Orban noted that the Kremlin at the end of 2021- early 2022 put forward specific security requirements that were transferred to the United States and NATO members, in particular, that Ukraine never become a member of the alliance.

“Russia’s demands were rejected, stating the continuation of the” open door, “he said, adding that the refusal caused why Russia decided to ensure that it could not receive in the negotiations.

The prime minister also stated that, in his opinion, it would not have reached the war if Donald Trump was the president of the United States in these decisive months, and the Chancellor of Germany was an angel Merkel.

In his opinion, Europe failed its chance as an intermediary between Ukraine and Russia, when France and Germany were participants in the Minsk format, but could not ensure the implementation of these agreements, so they now want to talk not with the Europeans, but with the USA.
